Devil's Punch Bowl Road Race

Last weekend I lined up for DPB, It was perfect weather, 70s for this race as it's normally in the 100F. Short story, I made it over the climb with the lead group for 2 of 3 laps and got dropped on the 3rd lap. I kept going as I knew I could get back into the race on the descent. As I was hammering on the 7 minute descend 2 more guys joined me, but we could not see the lead group. Once we were on rolling terrain and after making a right hander we could see the group up ahead, and we made a push to get back in. After we got back in the race I hide from the wind to try and recover some for the finish, but with the course going up a false flat the whole time and with some steep roller this prove to be difficult. About a K from the finish fireworks started coming fast from all directions and what was left of the front group separated again, I made the front group but only managed to cross the line in 12th place.
