Gary chasing Sid Taberlay
My M.O. is to basically suck wind at the beginning of the 'cross season and build fitness into December. This season would be no different coming off a stellar vacation and some other minor health snafus. In any case, Bonelli was the typical shock to the system. I was the only Platinum racer since Bobby was sitting this one out and I nailed the holeshot pretty good and hit the first barrier behind Sid Taberlay (see picture). He used his fitness coming off his great mountain bike Worlds finish (top 30ish) and handling skills to drop the entire field on the first lap. I have difficulty holding back and led the chase group of 5 guys for another lap and a half before cracking, fading, and finishing 10th.
